Filip Marcus von Buchwald
Filip Marcus von Buchwald is a trained visual artist from The Florence Academy of Art in Gothenburg, specializing in classical-realistic drawing and painting. During his three years of education, he concentrated on drawing and painting from live models in extended sessions, as well as cast drawing, painting, and still life.
“I first met Filip while taking his academic cast drawing class at a previous school, which I then just kept retaking for as long as it was offered. That year not only taught me more about technique than my previous lifetime of mostly self-study, but has helped redefine my relationship with art, both other people’s and mine.
Xenia and Filip are some of the most insightful, principled, engaging and thoughtful educators I’ve ever met, incredibly inspiring artists, and just really good people, and it’s been an absolute privilege to be able to follow them to Spiral Studios. Access to this level of instruction while working fulltime is just something I’d always assumed was out of reach, and it’s hard to overstate how transformational it has been.”
